1) Do I have to be a professional actor to join?
Yes you do. A professional actor is someone who has NCDT accredited, CDS School training or you have done paid speaking roles in television, film or theatre.
2) How long should the monologues be?
Each monologue should be no less than one minute and no more than 3 minutes long.
3) What type of speeches should I choose?
Your classical speech has to be from a play by William Shakespeare and your contemporary speech has to be from a play written after 1950. Try to make them contrasting pieces. Show off your range!
4) Should I use an accent for my monologues?
It’s entirely up to you! Just remember you should be very confident with any accent you use. Show someone the monologues and ask them what they think. A bit of criticism helps!
5) Can I edit the speeches?
No. This is about letting people see your chosen characters natural journey through the speech. Let your acting take them on that journey from start to finish. No gimmicks.
6) Should I be in costume?
This is entirely up to you. I would say maybe add something to your normal clothes or dress in keeping with the character you are playing. A full ball gown and beehive wig may be a bit much.
7)How much does it cost?
You can either pay £5 monthly: £25 for six months: or £45 for the whole year.
8) Is payment secure?
Yes! We use Paypal for all payments so there are no problems whatsoever
9) How do I add my videos?
a) Upload your videos to YouTube.
b) Copy the URL of your uploaded video from the address bar.
c) Paste this URL into the video textfield in your profile.
d) We’ll do the rest!
